VERSES

Lord, in these uncertain times, help me to make this promise of yours MY own.

PMC roller [#01] God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear
- Psalm 46:1-2

A PRAYER

PMC roller [#01] God our Father, we praise you and we thank you that you have made us your children in Jesus, we thank you that we can say along with Paul, nothing, absolutely nothing can separate us from your love.

Your Word tells us that you give us your peace, you leave it with us so that we need not be troubled or afraid. Help us to take you at your word, to turn all our anxieties into prayers, knowing that you care for us. We pray in the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

A HYMN

[#20]
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

  This is my story, this is my song,
  Praising my Saviour all the day long.
  This is my story, this is my song,
  Praising my Saviour all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Saviour am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

[#07] JOURNEY TO EMMAUS

Two people on a journey
Down at heart and deeply stressed
Walked down a road together
Feeling totally depressed.

At their side there came another
Who was interested to know
Why they were so very weary
And what had caused them to be so.

Two people on a journey
Eyes were dim, they could not see
How the presence of that stranger
Could set their spirits free.

As they walked along together
So the Stranger taught the Word
About how their friend had suffered
But they did not see the Lord.

When they came to eat together
Suddenly their vision cleared
And they recognised their Saviour
And ran back, now really cheered.

They told their other brothers
How the Lord appeared to them
On that journey to Emmaus,
How He'd come to life again

Lord. help us to recognise You
When You come in times of stress
Help us to sense Your presence
And to feel Your gentleness.

Help us to go to others
And teach them of Your love
That people who are searching
May be led to Heaven above.
