Lord, in these uncertain times, help me to make this promise of yours MY own.
- Isaiah 59:19
We also recognise that your life-giving Spirit lives within us, so guide us please by your Spirit and help us to trust you more, Forgive us for the times when we have thought that we knew best and have gone our own way, we ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
[#11] HOW DEEP THE FATHER'S LOVE
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.
Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life -
I know that it is finished.
I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart -
His wounds have paid my ransom..
 The Rainbow.
The rainbow arches magically
Against the darkened sky.
The brilliance of its colours there
Delight the sensing eye.
The raindrops sparkle on the grass
Like diamonds scattered down,
The brightly glowing colours
Painting all the land around.
Lord, thank you for the rainbows
That brighten up our lives.
For Your promises of love and peace
That help us in this strife.
Help us to see Your hand at work
In all we see and learn.
In the love of friends and family
When we don't know where to turn.
Lord, help us to be grateful
For all You do each day
For the beauty of the natural world
For those who love and pray.
Lord, these are special rainbows
That you give us in our lives,
The closeness of our loving friends,
The love which never dies.
Lord, help us share with others
The love You have for them,
How You can give them rainbows too
To help them now and then.
Help them to know the perfect love
That comes from God alone
Help them to travel through the rain
And gently bring them home.
